Nicola (Nikki) Fortin brings a unique and grounded approach to counselling therapy utilizing over 15 years of experience helping people create lasting change in their lives. Blending Western and Eastern philosophies and interventions, Nikki addresses personal healing from a client centered, integrated approach. She believes that lasting change occurs when mental, physical, emotional and spiritual systems are all involved in the process. Nikki offers help on an individual level, as well as on relational levels (couples, families, loved ones). Challenges give perspective to our suffering and provide clear direction as to next steps. They are deep pools of opportunity, but it takes deep courage to plunge in!

Nicola ( Nikki) Fortin completed her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Calgary. She has also completed five Post Graduate courses in Marital Family Therapy and holds an Undergraduate degree in Music Therapy. Nicola has extensive clinical training and experience working with individuals, families and couples. She has worked with children with developmental disabilities both as therapist and as supervisor.

Nicola has training in Energy Healing, as well as over 20 years experience in the practice of yoga, with over 350 completed teacher training hours.

She has specialized training in attachment based theories, EMDR, early child brain development, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness based cognitive therapy and has developed expertise in treating many mental health conditions. In particular, her areas of expertise/practical application are depression; anxiety; trauma; relational issues; early childhood disorders; phase of life challenges; family of origin issues and others.
